He Knows; He Loves
Tuesday of Holy Week | Year C
Apr 15, 2025
We begin together…
With the Sign of the Cross:
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Read.
Today is Tuesday of Holy Week. The liturgical colour is purple.
Our Gospel is from John 13:21-33,36-38.
In this Gospel, Jesus shares a meal with His closest friends. In the middle of dinner, He becomes troubled and says, “One of you is going to betray me.” Everyone is shocked. Quietly, Jesus shows that it’s Judas—and Judas leaves the room to carry out the betrayal. Then Jesus starts talking about what’s coming. Peter, full of confidence, says he’ll follow Jesus anywhere. But Jesus gently tells him that even he will deny Him. Jesus is always calm and full of love.
Prayerfully, we read:
“Jesus answered, ‘Will you lay down your life for me? Very truly, I tell you, before the cock crows, you will have denied me three times.’”
- John 13:38
Reflect.
He Knows; He Loves
Jesus knew. He knew Judas would betray Him. He knew Peter would deny Him. He knew His closest friends would run away when things got hard. And still—He shared the meal. He offered love. He stayed present.
This moment at the Last Supper isn’t just about failure; it’s about grace. Jesus doesn’t walk away from people who fall short. He walks with them, even through their weakness. Maybe there have been things you've done that has let Him down. But here’s the good news: Jesus already knows—and He still chooses you.
Now, take a moment:
Listen to the song as you reflect on today's image. What stands out to you?
Respond.
Together, we pray:
Jesus,
thank You for Your mercy when I mess up.
Help me to come back to You with a trusting heart.
Amen.
Discuss.
We have spent time with Jesus, now we ask:
How does it feel to know that Jesus already knows your weaknesses—and still chooses to love you completely?
We look forward to praying with you tomorrow.
