The Other Side
3rd Sunday of Easter
May 4, 2025
We begin together…
With the Sign of the Cross:
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.Amen.
Read.
Today is the 3rd Sunday of Easter. The liturgical colour is white.
Our Gospel is from John 21:1-19. In this Gospel, the disciples fish all night and catch nothing. At dawn, Jesus appears on the shore and tells them to cast their net on the other side. They catch an abundance - and realise it’s the Lord. After breakfast, Jesus gently restores Peter, asking, “Do you love me?” and calls him again: “Follow me.”
Prayerfully, we read:
“He said to them, ‘Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some.’ So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in because there were so many fish.”
John 21:6
Reflect.
The Other Side
Sometimes, breakthrough is just on the other side of our frustration. The disciples felt empty - but one word from Jesus changed everything. He still speaks, still provides, and still restores. When you listen and respond, you’ll find grace waiting… on the other side.
All He asks is that you love Him—and stay close. That’s where everything begins.
Now, take a moment:
Listen to the song as you reflect on today's image. What stands out to you?
Respond
Together, we pray:
Jesus,
When I feel stuck or discouraged, help me listen for Your voice.
Teach me to trust You, again.
Amen
Discuss.
We have spent time with Jesus, now we ask:
What might Jesus be asking you to do differently or try again—but this time, on the other side?
We look forward to praying with you next week.
