A Triumphant Entry
Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord | Year C
Apr 13, 2025
We begin together...
With the Sign of the Cross:
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.Amen.
Read.
Today is Palm Sunday. The liturgical colour is red.
Our Gospel is from Luke 19:28-40. In this Gospel, Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a young donkey, just like the prophets said He would. As He enters the city, He is greeted with cheers of excitement—the people cheer and shout praises to God! We know that, by the end of the week, He will be betrayed, arrested, mocked, and crucified. Despite everything, He forgives and loves—even from the cross..
Prayerfully, we read:
“Then Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.’”
Luke 23:34
Reflect.
A Triumphant Entry
Jesus didn’t just ride into Jerusalem to be praised—He rode in knowing He would suffer. He knew the same people who shouted “Hosanna!” would soon yell “Crucify Him.” But He still came. He still loved. He still gave everything.
So today, as we wave our palms and sing His praises, let’s remember:
He rode in for us. He died for us. He rose for us.
Now, take a moment:
Listen to the song as you reflect on today's image. What stands out to you?
Respond
Together, we pray:
Jesus, thank You for loving me even when I fall short. Help me to walk with You, not just when it’s easy, but especially when it’s hard. Amen.
Discuss.
We have spent time with Jesus, now we ask:
Why do you think Jesus still chose to enter Jerusalem—even knowing that pain, betrayal, and the cross were waiting for Him?
We look forward to praying with you tomorrow, especially as we journey through Holy Week.
