I Believe... And I Doubt
Monday, Week 6 Ordinary Time | Year C
Mar 24, 2025
We begin together...
With the Sign of the Cross:
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.Amen.
Read.
Today is Monday of Week 6 of Ordinary Time, Year C. The liturgical colour is green.
Our Gospel is from Mark 9:14-29. In this Gospel, a father brings his son, who is possessed by a spirit, to Jesus. The disciples couldn't cast it out. Jesus says, “Everything is possible for one who believes.” The father replies, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” So, Jesus heals the boy.
Prayerfully, we read:
Jesus said to him, “If you are able! All things can be done for the one who believes.”
Immediately the father of the child cried out, “I believe; help my unbelief!”- Mark 9:23-24
Reflect.
I Believe… And I Doubt.
Sometimes we feel like our faith isn’t strong enough.
Jesus shows us that faith, even when it feels weak, is powerful when we bring it to Him.
In today's scripture, the father in the story wasn’t perfect—he had doubts—but he still turned to Jesus.
That’s all Jesus asks of us!
Now, take a moment:
Listen to the song as you reflect on today's image. What stands out to you?
Respond.
Together, we pray:
Jesus,
I believe in You, but sometimes I struggle.
Help me to trust You even when I feel uncertain.
Strengthen my faith. Amen.In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.Amen.
Discuss.
We have spent time with Jesus, now we ask:
When have I found it hard to trust God?
What helped me?
We look forward to praying with you tomorrow.
