Tonight is the Easter Vigil. The Church celebrates the light of Christ breaking through the darkness.
Our Gospel is from Luke 24:1-12.
Early on Sunday morning, a group of women go to Jesus’ tomb, bringing spices to anoint His body, as was the Jewish tradition. But when they arrive, the stone is rolled away—and the tomb is empty.
Two angels in dazzling clothes appear and say, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen!” The women are amazed and rush to tell the disciples.
At first, no one believes them, but Peter runs to the tomb to see for himself. He finds it just as they said and leaves, wondering what it all means.
This moment changes everything—Jesus has risen, and hope is alive!
Prayerfully, we read:
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” - Luke 24:5
Reflect.
Hope Rises
The women went to the tomb expecting to find death. Instead, they found angels. Light. Surprise. Jesus wasn’t where they left Him—because He had risen.
The angel’s question echoes across time:
“Why do you look for the living among the dead?”
Jesus is alive. Hope is alive. And that changes everything.
Whatever darkness you’ve walked through, whatever fear or sadness you carry—tonight, the light breaks in. The tomb is empty, and love has won.
Now, take a moment:
Listen to the song as you reflect on today's image. What stands out to you?
Respond.
Together, we pray:
Jesus,
You are alive!
Thank You for bringing light into my darkness.
Help me live in Your hope.
Amen.
Discuss.
We have spent time with Jesus, now we ask:
What’s one way I can celebrate Jesus' resurrection today?
We look forward to praying with you tomorrow.
