In the name of the Father,

Today is Easter Sunday! The liturgical colour is white. Jesus is risen!

Our Gospel is from John 20:1-9.

Early on Easter morning, Mary Magdalene goes to Jesus’ tomb and sees that the stone has been rolled away. She runs to tell Peter and John, thinking someone has taken Jesus’ body. Peter and John rush to the tomb. John arrives first and sees the linen cloths, but doesn’t go in. Peter arrives and enters. Then John follows—and when he sees the empty tomb, he believes. They still don’t fully understand, but something has changed and it will never be the same.

Prayerfully, we read:

“Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed.”
- John 20:8

Reflect.

Run to the Risen One.

Jesus’ resurrection changes everything. He is alive, and His love brings hope that never ends. Mary ran to the tomb in sadness. Peter and John ran there in confusion. But when they saw it empty—something shifted.

The burial cloths were still there. The stone was rolled away. Jesus was gone… because He is alive. John stepped inside, and he believed. He didn’t have all the answers, but something deep in him knew: this changes everything.

Easter isn’t just about what happened to Jesus—it’s about what happens to us when we believe in Him. Death doesn’t win. Hope isn’t lost. Jesus is risen… and nothing will ever be the same.

Now, take a moment:

Listen to the song as you reflect on today's image. What stands out to you?

0:00/1:34

Respond.

Together, we pray:

Jesus,
You are alive—and I believe!
Help me run toward You each day with joy.
Amen.

Discuss.

We have spent time with Jesus, now we ask:

What’s one area in your life where you need to allow the ‘hope’ of the resurrection to change?

We look forward to praying with you tomorrow.
